Benefits of CTS' PZT Composite
- Custom volume percent of epoxy
- Enhanced electromechanical coupling factors
- Lower cross-talk
- Increased acoustic sensitivity
- Broader bandwidth
- Improved conformity to the backing materials
Piezoelectric composite materials consist of a
piezoelectric ceramic in a thermosetting epoxy matrix. CTS'
piezoelectric composite materials offer clear advantages
over traditional monolithic piezoelectric ceramics, which
are used by the medical ultrasound and non-destructive
testing (NDT) industries to improve
imaging capabilities.
CTS' piezoelectric composite materials are available in
any material formulation and can be prepared as a bare
element or with a wide variety of sputtered electrodes.
The piezoelectric composites are available in thicknesses as thin as 0.005 inches. CTS also produces a wide range of
surface finishes compatible with next-level assembly.
