CTS Today
Diversified technologies sets CTS apart from other component
manufacturers. Highly specialized and often proprietary, company engineers
and technicians use their vast knowledge and technological skills to design
and produce components of the highest quality, reliability and value for
global customers. Proof of CTS' strong technological advantage is
found in its broad patent portfolio, encompassing over 350 unique and
diversified product and process patents worldwide.
- Ceramics: Ceramic materials are extremely versatile and can be
used in many different ways in the electronics industry. Conductive
and resistive materials can be printed on a ceramic base, creating
resistive and resistive/capacitive control circuits. Ceramics are
also used to produce radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic
interference (EMI) filtering devices.
- Cermet: A combination of metal and ceramic materials fused at
high temperatures, creating resistance elements that are stable,
reliable and adaptable to the miniaturization
trend that is critical to the continued future of electronic
components.
- Electromagnetics: Magnetic fields generated by electrical
currents flowing through coiled wire is used to convert electricity
into motion; the basis of electromagnetic actuators.
- Magnetics: Using Hall Effect technology, which generates a
proportionate voltage from a moving magnetic field, CTS produces
numerous non-contacting position sensors for vehicle markets. These
sensors are high in reliability and performance.
- Piezoelectric Materials: Piezoelectric technology makes use of
the natural properties of selected quartz and ceramic materials to
produce an electrical charge when compressed. The opposite is also
true—when a voltage is applied these materials will oscillate at a
resonate frequency. The material’s narrow frequency response makes
them excellent for generating very accurate frequency references.
This technology finds numerous applications in equipment for
defense and aerospace, industrial, medical diagnostics,
sonic/sonar and many hand-held devices.
- Resistive and Conductive Inks: Utilized in a variety of sensors,
potentiometers, resistive networks and microcircuits, proprietary resistive and
conductive inks are
fundamental in many CTS components. Custom formulations ensure CTS resistive components exceed all customer
requirements and specifications.
- Highly Automated Assembly Capabilities: CTS Corporation utilizes
a vast array of precise, highly automated and certified
manufacturing systems to produce products of consistent quality that
meet or exceed the strictest standards and customer requirements.
