CTS Introduces New 622 MHz, 9mm x 14mm PECL
Clock Oscillator For Fiber Optic Infrastructure Applications

Elkhart, IN…CTS Corporation (NYSE:CTS), a global supplier of voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs), temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) and reference clocks, today announced Model 650, a new 9mm x 14mm PECL clock oscillator for fiber optic infrastructure applications. To address an estimated yearly global market approaching $40 million, the product design was developed with the inherent flexibility to be modified for additional frequencies and features. And, because of the design's flexible architecture, customized specifications can be delivered within only a few weeks lead time.

Operating at 622.08 MHz over a temperature range of minus 40 to plus 85 degrees C, CTS Model 650 surface mount clock oscillators employ a patent-pending technology that provides typical RMS phase jitter of less than 1 pico-second, and excellent frequency stability of plus/minus
15 ppm. Further, these surface mount clock oscillators can be specified to operate at a supply voltage of either 5 volts or 3.3 volts.

The CTS industry standard, 9mm x 14mm clock oscillator is constructed on a printed circuit board with the critical crystal component sealed in a hermetic ceramic package. And, the clock oscillator printed circuit board matches the temperature coefficient of expansion of the infrastructure board to assure long-term reliability through harsh environmental cycles. CTS' hermetically sealed, precision AT cut quartz crystal provides excellent frequency stability over the entire operating temperature range.

Model 650 product samples and prototype production quantities are available now.
