FOR RELEASE: Immediately
CTS EMS Receives Medical Design
Excellence Award
Elkhart, IN…CTS Corporation (NYSE:CTS), a leading provider of electronics
manufacturing services, announced today that it has been awarded the 2005
Medical Design Excellence Award for the SAGE Oxygen Therapeutics Device.
CTS manufactures this device for Chad Therapeutics, a supplier of oxygen delivery systems for home health care and hospital treatment. The SAGE Oxygen Therapeutics Device senses a patient’s movement and adjusts the rate of oxygen delivery to reduce the risk of oxygen desaturation as activity increases. This is the second medical design award in two years for CTS.
“The Medical Design Excellence Award is a testament to CTS’ engineering, supply-chain and project management capabilities. CTS’ goal is to create a competitive advantage for our customers, helping them bring quality products to market faster,” commented Don Schroeder, President of CTS Electronics Manufacturing Solutions.
The Medical Design Excellence Awards competition is sponsored by Canon Communications LLC and is the only awards program that exclusively recognizes contributions and advances in the design of medical products. Entries are evaluated on design and engineering features. These features include innovative use of materials and user-related functions that improve healthcare delivery and change traditional medical attitudes or practices, enhanced benefits to the patient, and the ability of the product development team to overcome design and engineering challenges so the product meets its clinical objectives.
The 2005 Medical Design Excellence Award Winners will be honored at a ceremony during the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East Conference and Exposition, June 13 – 15, 2005 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
CTS’ EMS business offers core expertise in supporting the needs of medical customers. Key capabilities include design services, high-reliability surface mount assembly for high complexity electronics, fully integrated boxbuild systems, global support for clinical trials and cleanroom manufacturing.
