Manufacturing Excellence Award

Elkhart, IN…CTS Corporation (NYSE: CTS), a global leader in the design and manufacture of automotive sensors, actuators and subsystems, was recently recognized as a Manufacturing Excellence Award finalist by the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). The recognition was received at AME’s annual conference in Boston, Massachusetts.

The AME recognized CTS’ automotive plant in Canada for ongoing comprehensive product development processes and manufacturing excellence improvement initiatives, which have resulted in many new program awards from key customers. CTS of Canada pursues activities that have resulted in significant improvements in productivity, quality, safety and employee relations.

Through the successful implementation of best practices initiatives such as 5S+1, Value-Stream Mapping, Enhanced Kanban, One-Piece Flow and Poka Yoke techniques, CTS of Canada has become an example for other organizations to follow.  CTS of Canada continues to field numerous requests for plant tours, and holds the distinction of having conducted the number one ranked plant tour during the 2003 Annual AME Conference in Toronto.
