CTS Introduces New ActiPlex™ Filtering Solutions for the
Micro-Cell Base Station Market
 

Elkhart, IN…CTS Corporation (NYSE: CTS), a global leader in the design and manufacturer of ceramic radio frequency filters, today announced the release of the ActiPlex^TM Series of board-mounted filtering solutions developed for use in micro-cell base stations.

The demand for high-speed data services and mobile broadband applications continues to fuel the rollout of 3G infrastructures around the world.  This demand has prompted providers to search for innovative solutions to satisfy their capacity requirements. CTS’ new ActiPlex^TM Series was developed to meet those needs. Using CTS’ patented monoblock design techniques, ActiPlex^TM was designed to enable the development of single board, multi-band, micro-cell base stations. ActiPlex^TM provides a path for base station manufacturers to offer cellular network providers a compact yet flexible solution for their network needs.

ActiPlex^TM solutions consist of a board-mounted duplexer, Tx band pass filter and an Rx band pass filter. When used in a distributive filtering architecture, these filters provide competitive performance to air cavity filters at a fraction of the size. The ActiPlex^TM solution eliminates the need for cables, connectors and separate cabinets currently required by air cavity solutions. W-CDMA filters and duplexers using the ActiPlex^TM technology will be available in October 2006 with other protocols coming online during the fourth quarter of 2006.
