Reasearch Paper at Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics
Noliac, a part of CTS Corporation, has contributed to a research project, which will be presented at the Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM) in Munich, Germany, July 3-7.
Modeling and Identification of Hysteresis
Xianfeng Song, student at University of Southern Denmark, will present the results of his research, which can be found in the paper “Modeling and Identification of Hysteresis with Modified Preisach Model in Piezoelectric Actuator”. Xianfeng Song explains the research:
A novel modified Preisach model is proposed to identify and simulate the hysteresis phenomena observed in a piezoelectric stack actuator. Further an open-loop controller is incorporated to eliminate hysteresis influence. Our proposed approach with a continuous, analytical distribution function performs very well when considering the low amount of parameters.
Xianfeng Song relied on three advisors for his research: Lars Duggen and Benny Lassen from the University of Southern Denmark, Mads Clausen Institute and Charles Mangeot, Senior R&D Engineer at Noliac A/S.
Close relationships with universities worldwide
Noliac works closely with technical universities, providing knowledge about piezoelectric technology as well as supplying piezoelectric products used in the research projects. Charles Mangeot explains:
Research projects are a great way for us to be updated on the newest research in the academic world. Therefore, we participate in research projects as often as possible. We want to contribute with our hands-on expertise on piezoelectric technology to the academic world. We also believe that our own R&D benefits from the knowledge and ideas that our partners bring to the projects.
More about AIM 2017
AIM 2017 will bring together an international community of experts to discuss the state-of-the-art for new research results, perspectives of future developments, and innovative applications relevant to mechatronics, robotics, control, and automation.
