CTS provides unique knowledge on the design and manufacture of customized piezoelectric sensors and transducers according to customer requirements. Our capabilities are based on many years of experience in this field, and they can be summarized into the phases seen below. CTS also offers a wide range of standard sensors and transducers, which can be grouped into these categories: General Purpose, High Resolution, and High Power Transducers.
Design and Simulation
In the initial phase, we work with the customers to specify the primary performance parameters for the device. This is the background for the choice of design and the selection of piezoelectric material. Once a reference design is chosen, we conduct feasibility studies, make simulations and execute proof of concept.

Development of Prototypes
When we have established that the design meets the specific customer requirements, we develop fully functional prototypes. These are then tested to determine if the design is working as intended and validate the design and modelling phase.
In this phase, the design is optimized to meet the requirements of the device based on the prototype performance. For instance, the piezoelectric material can be changed, the matching layer can be tuned, backing can be optimized, etc.
From Prototype to Production
When the design of the prototype is accepted and successfully tested to meet requirements, we develop the most efficient production method for production manufacture. Our industrial engineering team will ensure the product quality and reliability of the production process by using lean manufacturing tools as VSM (Value Stream Mapping), error proofing, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and others. Test methods are applied to control the critical process parameters throughout the production process.
Serial Manufacturing and Assembly
We offer full production with serial manufacturing and assembly of the devices from small series to high volumes. Our team constantly improves the quality of the products by making use of a continuous improvement policy, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and 100% quality check. The production facility is ISO9001:2015 certified and ATEX (Appareils destinés à être utilisés en ATmosphères EXplosibles) certified. This allow us to supply intrinsically safe products able to operate in potentially explosive atmospheres.
