Thermistors

Thermistors (thermal resistors) use the variable electrical resistance of their semiconductor sensing elements to determine temperature. The products are either of the positive temperature coefficient type (PTC) where the electrical resistance increases with rising temperatures, or of the negative temperature coefficient type (NTC) where the resistance decreases when temperatures rise. Both PTCs and NTCs offer great temperature sensitivity and solid accuracy over a moderate temperature range. This makes them a cost-effective solutions in applications where size space contraints and temperature sensitivity are main concerns.

Glass Thermistors

Glass Thermistors are available in probe assemblies and glass beads. Glass probe thermistors are best suited to applications that require high stability and ruggedness. Glass probes have many beneficial features, which is why they are so frequently used. They have superior stability when compared to other sensors, are robustly constructed and are hermetically sealed.

If glass probes do not fit your application needs, consider small glass bead thermistors. These beads offer small size and are known for their fast-thermal response time. They are very sensitive to both voltage and current changes.

Temperature Probes

CTS offers a broad selection of highly customizable temperature sensing probes for a wide range of applications. Dedicated to either gas/air, liquid or contact surface measurements, all probes are developed for easy placement and implementation in target areas and systems, and depending on the specific model, they can be customized in terms of sensing method and element, housing, wiring, mounting and size. All ensures that we always can assemble a temperature sensor that fits our customers' specific applications.

DirectTemp® USB Thermometers

DirecTemp® USB thermometers offer direct temperature control by capturing real-time temperature data. These data loggers can be customized with two interface options, multiple probe styles and cable configurations and a range of tolerances. The DirecTemp® can be connected using a plug-and-play or a serial USB connection, and with easy-to-use software, temperature data can be streamed and customized with user-configured alerts and direct Excel-file exporting.

Thermocouples from CTS Corporation

Thermocouples

Thermocouples utilize the Seebeck-effect to generate a temperature-dependent voltage which in turn can determine temperature levels. Self-powered and cost-effective, thermocouples offer a durable means of temperature sensing with a wide temperature range. As such, they are well suited for applications operating in harsh industrial environments where exposure to vibration, shock, humidity and chemical vapor likely will occur.
