RTD

Resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) are sensors using the variable electric resistance of their resistor element to determine temperature. The RTD element is made of a pure metal, such as platinum, with a well-documented resistance behaviour over various temperatures. The purity of the metal ensures a linear resistance response to changing temperatures, leading to highly precise readings. Over a moderate temperature range, RTDs are unmatched in terms of measuring accuracy and stability, making them the temperature sensor of choice for critical applications where even the slightest change in temperature must be registered.
