The chassis acceleration sensor from CTS Corporation is a new multi-axis accelerometer technology for the automotive industry. When mounted on the vehicle chassis or body, the sensor will measure acceleration motion, transferring the data using a PSI5 protocol to the vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU). The data can then be used by the ECU to enable and enhance various safety and ride-comfort functionalities, e.g., active damping in modern automotive suspension systems.
The chassis acceleration sensor is capable of acceleration measurement in up to three axes and provides flexible mounting for easy integration in unique vehicle designs. It has high bandwidth and two programmable sensing ranges, ensuring accurate motion readings for fine-tuned damping force adjustments. With full EMC compliance, a wide operating temperature range and electronics sealing for improved dust and moisture resistance, the chassis acceleration sensor offers high performances in the most demanding of automotive settings.
With the additional CTS automotive sensors, the chassis acceleration sensor constitues our Adaptive Driving Sensor Suite, a growing portfolio of products that provide real-time motion feedback solutions for dynamic ride and chassis control. This will empower vehicle manufacturers to deliver safer, smoother and more personalized driving experiences.
