Series 782 Non-Contacting Accelerator Pedal

Customizable Accelerator Pedal System
The series 782 is a non-contacting accelerator pedal from CTS Corporation, designed as a solution for current and next-generation electric, hybrid and internal combustion engine vehicles. It is a highly adaptable and easily implementable foot control solution with a modular design that still leaves room for a high degree of customer-specified modification, ensuring its fit in specific unique vehicles systems.
The series 782 is an electronic accelerator pedal that utilizes inductive sensing for a precise and highly linear response, providing two ASIL B signals that are capable of supporting higher system safety levels. A non-contacting solution, the series 782 experiences little mechanical wear and tear, prolonging its operational lifespan and improving its performance reliability considerably, compared to contacting pedal alternatives.
As a result of the inductive sensing design, it is a highly durable solution, working well in harsh operational environments where exposure to humidity, dust and wide temperature ranges can be expected. The series 782 accelerator pedal is also immune to magnetic stray fields which makes it particularly well-suited for use in electric and hybrid vehicles.
Modular Design Approach
The series 782 non-contacting accelerator pedal is designed as a modular solution with a common friction and sensing system across all platforms while also allowing customization of several select parts. By combining modular and customer-specified components, OEMs can essentially build their own unique pedal, resulting in a lightweight and easy-to-manufacture solution that is guaranteed to fit their specific footwell design. This design approach will lower the cost for implementation, tooling and validation for vehicle manufacturers, allowing them to spend less time in development and be able to bring their vehicles to market faster.
