Ultrasonic Cleaning and Welding
Piezoelectric elements are a primary component in ultrasonic cleaning and welding. The piezoelectric effect allows the conversion of high-frequency electrical energy to high-frequency mechanical energy.
Ultrasonic cleaning is widely used to loosen surface contaminants, remove dust, dirt, oil residue and other materials from product surfaces. Ultrasonic cleaning is useful in dental plaque removal, cleaning of electronic and semiconductor components, cleaning of mechanical parts, and cleaning of delicate parts such as jewelry and eyeglasses.
Ultrasonic welding is a fast and cost effective way for joining two components together and works by transferring high frequency vibrations to melt the materials and form a bond. Both metal and plastic parts can be welded through this process.
